Sonography at Campus Virchow-Klinikum
Gastroenterological ultrasound is an indispensable part of the internal examination and can provide a great deal of diagnostic information on diseases of the abdominal cavity. In particular, it provides rapid assessments of diseases of the bile ducts and gall bladder, the liver and the pancreas.
A special focus of ultrasound diagnostics in the Central Interdisciplinary Endoscopy is intestinal sonography: Particularly in patients with chronic inflammatory bowel diseases, a good non-invasive statement about inflammatory activity and spread patterns can be achieved in this way.
Other focal points are the contrast medium-supported assessment of changes in the liver as well as targeted punctures of space-occupying lesions, especially in the liver, to obtain tissue material for further diagnostics
Patient Registration at Campus Virchow-Klinikum (CVK)
The examination should be announced by the attending physician in the Central Interdisciplinary Endoscopy. This medical consultation is important in order to provide all the necessary information.
